Welcome to Pizzeria Mercato

We are Todd and Brenda Mitchell, and we love to feed people—families, teams, school groups, work groups, couples, friends.

We were in the hotel business in Invermere for some years, and our pizzas were so popular that we decided to specialize. To learn the finer points of pizza-making, Todd attended a branch of the International School of Pizza in North Beach, San Francisco.

Under world champion pizzaiolo, Tony Gemignani, Todd learned the culinary art of making Neapolitan and Classic Italian pizzas. We opened Pizzeria Mercato in 2014. With what we learned from Tony and our experience with pizza in the hotel business we created the Pizzeria Mercato panned pizza style.

Our Restaurant

Pizzeria Mercato is open for takeout and delivery daily. Our licensed patio is open for the summer to eat you takeout and enjoy a cold beer or glass of wine. When you arrive, take a seat on the patio and give us a call to place your order. We will take your order just as we do for takeout and delivery and then bring everything out for you.

Delicious Food

Our pizzas are Italian style panned pizzas with a crisp herbed crust, perfectly seasoned tomato sauce and outstanding melted cheeses. We make our dough in-house every day, we use exceptional quality tomatoes, cheeses and meats, and we think our pizzas are the best in the Columbia Valley.

We also serve delicious spaghetti, meatballs, wings, ribs, salads and hot Italian sandwiches, along with wine, craft and import beers, coolers and cider.

Our dessert menu is simple: German-style chocolate cake, Red velvet cake, and Strawberry cheesecake.

At Pizzeria Mercato, we believe everyone has something unique to give back their community. In our case, it’s delicious pizza. We proudly give back by keeping volunteers well-fed during local events. We also direct our focus to helping local schools provide the next generation with life skills.

Pizza School

A field trip filled with delicious learning!

We invite classes from local schools to attend our “pizza school.” The activities are tailored to the age of students who get a hands-on experience with making pizzas, which they get to eat. Students also learn a bit about handling money and the older students also get to learn about applying for their first jobs.
